Practical information
We believe it's important that you're well-prepared for your trip. That's why we've compiled a list of the most important practical matters for you. After booking, you'll receive additional information to help you prepare further; we'll guide you step by step.
Passport & visa : You need a valid passport that is valid for at least six months upon your return. The visa is included in the price and will be arranged upon arrival at the airport.
Age : The trip is suitable for participants aged 18 and over.
Accommodation : You'll share a double room with a fellow traveler. Travel groups will, of course, be placed together.
Travel groups of 3 people can also be accommodated in a triple room – please mention this in the comments during checkout.
A single room can also be booked for an additional €550. Please indicate this in the comments field during checkout.
Free time : The program includes free time so you can explore Cairo on your own. Check out our blogs or social media channels for helpful tips, hotspots, and places to eat.
Cancellation and travel insurance : We strongly recommend taking out cancellation and travel insurance. Egypt is a beautiful country, but unforeseen circumstances such as flight delays, illness, or baggage problems can occur. Insurance protects you against these.
Currency : In Egypt, the Egyptian pound (EGP) is used. An ATM is available at the hotel. Contactless payments are generally accepted almost everywhere using your debit card or phone. Cash is useful for small shops or souvenirs.
Health & vaccinations : Make sure your basic vaccinations are up to date. Before your departure, consult your doctor or a travel clinic for additional advice.
Dress code : Please respect the local culture. Women are advised to wear clothing that covers their shoulders and knees. Men are advised not to wear shorts at religious sites. We will visit several mosques during the tour. Women are required to wear a headscarf during these visits. No headscarf? Bring a scarf to cover yourself. This way, you can participate comfortably and respectfully during the tours.
Extra tip: bring comfortable shoes that are easy to put on and take off, ideal for city walks and mosque visits.
Communication : Before your trip, you'll receive access to a group chat. We'll share updates and tips here, and you can ask questions. This way, we can stay in touch before and during your trip.
Baggage : Please note the airline's (Transavia) baggage allowance. The price includes one personal item weighing up to 10 kg (dimensions 40x30x20 cm) and one checked bag weighing up to 20 kg (dimensions 70x60x30 cm).
